Eston SC Swimmers Shine at Sheffield and Beyond

Eston Swimming Club made a huge splash last weekend, with swimmers competing across two days at Sheffield’s Pond’s Forge as well as at the Richmond Dale Meet in Middlesbrough. The weekend marked the start of the 2025/26 season, and the results could not have been more encouraging.

Coaches praised the athletes’ determination, team spirit, and support for one another, describing it as “a pleasure to coach each and every swimmer.” The performances were not only a credit to the individuals but also to the club as a whole, setting a strong tone for the year ahead.

Saturday – ROM B Grade Gala

Eston SC enjoyed an incredible medal haul and a string of personal bests at the ROM B Grade Gala, including the club’s first-ever “speeding tickets” at this event.

  • Multiple North East Regional qualifying times

Special congratulations went to William M, Edie S, Noah W, and Peter S for their outstanding swims.

Sunday – COSSC Tea Spoon Gala

The strong form continued on Sunday with another set of brilliant performances:

  • 4 Gold Medals

  • 2 Silver Medals

  • 7 Bronze Medals

  • 2 New Club Records

  • Further North East Regional qualifying times

Well done to Noah W and Lewis T for their exceptional efforts on the day.

Additional Success at Richmond Dale Meet

Several of Eston SC’s dual swimmers also impressed at the Richmond Dale Meet at the Neptune Centre, producing a host of personal best times and further demonstrating the club’s growing strength in depth.

Thanks and Acknowledgements

A big thank you went to Jason for officiating throughout the weekend, as well as to Rachel Stephenson for her role as Team Manager (and for supplying a much-needed pen on the day!), and our ever-present Head Coach Phil Horner.

The weekend was summed up perfectly by the coaching team: “This was a cracking weekend of swimming and a fantastic way to start the season. We’re really excited to see what’s to come for 2025/26.”
